Aging Hands

How To Treat Aging Hands?

While most cosmetic procedures hone in on correcting the face and midsection, this leaves out an important area that is nearly always visible to the outside world and is greatly affected by the aging process — the hands. As we age, the skin of our hands wears down from constant use, becoming thin, wrinkled, and deflated.

To minimize the effects that time has on your hands, Laser Health Works offers a variety of treatments to return your hands to their formerly youthful, elegant state.

  • BBL™ Photorejuvenation Treatments

BBL™ photorejuvenation treatments utilize the power of targeted light to make the skin of your hands smoother, tighter, and softer. The targeted light heats up the upper layers of your skin, spurring the production of collagen, a protein naturally found in the body that keeps your skin firm and wrinkle-free.

Typically, somewhere between one and two BBL™ treatments are required to achieve optimal results. Each treatment lasts under 10 minutes, and you can return to your normal daily activities as soon as it’s done.

The goal of this treatment is to lift the hyperpigmentation from the back of the hands or brown spots.

  • Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are injectable substances that plump, tighten, and smooth the skin. These injectables are very effective in reducing fine lines and wrinkles in the hands. At Laser Health Center, we offer the following dermal fillers:

Dermal filler injections typically take somewhere between five and thirty minutes. Like neuromodulators, the results are temporary, usually lasting between six and twelve months. During your initial consultation, your doctor will examine the state of your hands to determine which dermal filler is best suited for you.

  • ProFractional™ Laser Treatment

ProFractional™ is a type of laser ablation treatment that targets small areas of skin, stimulating the body’s natural healing response. Part of this healing response is an increase in fibroblast production. Fibroblast production renews and revitalizes your skin, making it thicker and tighter. This treatment is often used in combination with other anti-aging methods to achieve the most dramatic results in your hands.

One downside to ProFractional™ laser treatment is the downtime — it usually lasts for three to seven days. While three treatments are typically needed to get the best results, these results can last for years.

  • Clear + Brilliant Skin Care

Clear + Brilliant Skin Care is a non-ablative fractional laser resurfacing treatment. The treatment works by creating an array of microscopic lesions across your skin, stimulating the healing process. Since these small areas of laser energy that is surrounded by healthy skin, they heal more quickly. The lesioned areas help new, renewed, beautiful skin grow.

This treatment involves little to no social downtime. Somewhere between three and six treatments are recommended.

It’s important to explore all of your options before undergoing a cosmetic procedure to correct the look and feel of your hands. If you’re interested in any of these treatments and would like to schedule your initial consultation, contact us today.
